Myth of the Month: Is Natural Skincare Actually Safer? What You Need to Know
Myth of the Month: "Natural Means Safer"!
We've all heard it: "If it's natural, it must be better for your skin." Here's the truth: natural doesn't automatically mean safer or more effective.
Poison ivy is natural too and we're definitely not putting that into a face mask. In my own practice, I see quite a bit of contact dermatitis from so-called "natural/organic" products that haven't been properly tested or properly formulated. If we relied on nature alone, we honestly wouldn't be seeing real, consistent skin results. The safer bet is products that are science-based and laboratory tested, recommended by well-known medical professionals who rely on data, not influencer hype. And when you purchase through authentic medical retailers, you also have accountability and support if something doesn't agree with your skin. That's real skin care, not sponsored opinions, just guidance you can trust and support you actually have access to.
