Why Google Reviews Matter for a Small Aesthetic Practice.

Why Your Google Review Matters More Than You Think

If you’ve ever taken the time to leave me a Google review, first of all, thank you. ❤️

But there’s something about reviews that most people probably don’t realize.

For a small boutique practice like mine, your review does more than tell me you’re happy with your experience. It helps other people actually find me.

Small Practice. Big Internet.

When you search Google for an aesthetic injector or med spa, the businesses that show up first aren’t necessarily the most experienced providers.

Large med spas often have entire marketing teams, multiple locations, large advertising budgets, and hundreds or thousands of reviews across their businesses.

I don’t.

I’m an independent aesthetic nurse injector in Carlsbad. I’ve been injecting for more than 20 years and have had the privilege of treating thousands of patients.

But Google doesn’t sit in my treatment room.

It doesn’t know how long I’ve been doing this. It doesn’t see my consultations or know how happy I can make some look and feel. It doesn’t know my philosophy or how seriously I take making sure your results look natural.

It learns about my practice partly through what people say about it online.

And now, AI does too.

Apparently, “Laurie Is Amazing” Isn’t Enough 😂

Here’s where things get slightly ridiculous.

HOW you write a review actually matters.

A review that says:

“Laurie is amazing!”

means a lot to me. Truly.

But it doesn’t give Google or AI much context about why you think I’m amazing or what I actually do.

A review that naturally mentions that you saw me for Botox, Daxxify, filler or Radiesse gives search engines more context.

So does mentioning that I’m an aesthetic nurse injector in Carlsbad.

And if what you appreciate is my conservative approach or natural-looking results, saying that helps too.

You definitely do not need to cram a bunch of keywords into your review. Please don’t. 😂

Just describe your actual experience.

What did you come in for?

What did you like about your results?

Why did you choose me?

What makes you continue coming back?

Those details are helpful to someone trying to decide who they can trust with their face.

Reviews Help Level the Playing Field

This is the part that matters most to me.

Independent providers can’t compete with large med spas dollar for dollar when it comes to advertising.

And frankly, I don’t want to.

I’d rather build my practice through great patient experiences, education, word of mouth, and a reputation I’ve earned over time.

Your reviews help make that possible.

They also give prospective patients something advertising never can: the perspective of someone who has actually sat in my chair.

So if you’ve had a great experience with me and have ever thought about leaving a review, I would be incredibly grateful.

And if you’ve already written one, thank you.

Your words don’t just support my small business.

They help someone else make a more informed decision about who they can trust with their face.

And that is worth a whole lot more than “Laurie is amazing.” Although, for the record, I’ll happily take that too. 😂
